MbpsToMB exists to settle one recurring argument: your internet plan's Mbps number and your download manager's MB/s number are not the same thing, and the difference is exactly eight.
Two focused calculators and nothing else. The first converts internet speed between megabits per second and megabytes per second in both directions. The second turns a file size and a connection speed into a real waiting time. Both update as you type, both run entirely in your browser, and neither asks you for anything.
Every result on this site comes from two fixed relationships: one byte contains eight bits, and transfer time equals file size divided by transfer rate. We apply the SI decimal convention (1 GB = 1000 MB) by default because that is what network speeds use, and we offer a binary option (1 GB = 1024 MB) because that is what Windows and Steam display. Mixing those two systems is the most common error in this niche, so we make the choice explicit rather than hiding it.
A theoretical result is honest maths but a poor prediction. Protocol overhead, server-side throttling, Wi-Fi loss and shared bandwidth reliably cost 10-20% of the advertised rate, so our download calculator reports both the theoretical best case and a realistic estimate at 85% efficiency. We would rather be useful than optimistic.
We do not collect the values you type. There is no server round-trip, no account system, and no database of your calculations, because every computation is a few lines of JavaScript running on your own device. Closing the tab erases everything.
